COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — National Drug Takeback day is this Saturday, April 26, and the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in keeping streets drug free.
The MCSD, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health, is hosting a drug takeback drive-up and drop-off at the Upper Level of the Columbus Health Department.
The event will be at 5601 Veterans Parkway from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event is in hopes that citizens in the Columbus area will drop-off expired or unused prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Narcan, a medicine that can treat a narcotic overdose in an emergency situation, will be available for distribution.
