Pinaigting ng Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) ang monitoring ng nito sa iba’t ibang social media platform kung saan tinututukan ang mga cyber threat, fake news at disinformation laban sa ikalimang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na maaaring nag-uudyok ng kaguluhan.
Inatasan na ni CICC Undersecretary Aboy Paraiso ang Threat Monitoring Center at Cybercrime Response Center upang paigtingin pa ang online surveillance.
Partikular na pinatutukan ang mga posibleng cyber attack, coordinated disinformation campaigns, at mga promotor ng gulo.
Tiniyak naman ni Paraiso na mananatili ang kanilang respeto sa karapatan ng publiko na ipahayag ang sariling opinyon tungkol sa SONA ng Pangulo.
“The President’s SONA is one of the most important democratic exercises in our country. Every Filipino has the right to express opinions but those discussions must be based on facts, not misinformation designed to deceive, divide, or incite,” paglilinaw ni Paraiso.
Hindi naman aniya layunin ng kanilang monitoring na pigilan ang mga lehitimong talakayan tungkol sa politika bagkus ay pinoprotektahan lamang nila ang integridad ng digital space para mas maging “informed, peaceful and responsible” ang talakayan online.
