Mariing kinondena ni ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro ang pagpatay sa aktibista at NDF-consultant na si Ericson Acosta at peasant leader na si Joseph Jimenez noong Nobyembr 30 sa Negros.
Sinasabing hinuli umano si Acosta kasama si Jimenez at saka pinatay at pinalalabas itong isang encounter.
“We call for justice for the killings of Acosta, Jimenez and other victims of extra-judicial killings in the country. Human rights defenders who fight for social justice of fellow Filipinos who have no voice are at the forefront of attacks by state forces, labelling them as terrorists and treating them as criminals,” apela ni Castro.
Si Acosta ang NDF consultant sa pag-draft ng agreement on Socio-Economic Reforms at lumahok sa formal peace talks and discussions sa reciprocal working committees sa peace talks noong 2016-2017.
Kailangan umanong matuldukan na ang pagpatay sa mga peace advocate, human rights defender, environmentalist, activist, maging sa mga magsasaka at manggagawa. (Eralyn Prado)
