Cold front clears the rain out, but brings in much cooler temperatures

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) - Showers and a few rumbles of thunder move into the region late this afternoon and throughout the remainder of the evening. The showers do move out of the region during the overnight as a Canadian cold front drops in from the north bringing in much cooler temperatures for the start of the week.

Tonight once the rain moves out, clouds will be stubborn to break; however, temperatures will fall into the upper 40s. Monday will see the cloud coverage slowly break especially throughout the morning. Afternoon becomes more sun than clouds with temperatures remaining in the low 60s for afternoon highs.

A Freeze Watch has been posted for a majority of the region as temperatures will fall into the mid to low 30s for Tuesday morning. Areas to the north will likely see sub-freezing temperatures once the front fully sets in. Sunny and cool for the first day of Spring on Tuesday.

High pressure builds throughout much of next week helping temperatures to once again climb into the 70s by the mid to late week. Our next chance of rain arrives by Friday as low pressure moves in.
