Gov. Brian Kemp signs several pieces of legislation at Jordan Vocational High School

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Gov. Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp are visiting Columbus on Thursday afternoon to sign multiple pieces of legislation for the state of Georgia.

A total of eight bills are set to be signed during the ceremony at Jordan Vocational High School. One of those bills - HB 970 — has a piece of anti-human trafficking legislation that makes the REACH Scholarship more accessible trafficking victims.

The remaining seven bills include HB 982SB 440SB 497SB 384SB 354SB 373, and SB 195.

According to Gov. Kemp, these bills are primarily focused on workforce development and economic opportunity. That's why Jordan was selected as the backdrop.

All of the bills were passed during the 2024 General Assembly session. The breakdown of those bills can be found in the slideshow below:

The bill signing ceremony is set to be held at Jordan's Mechatronics Lab at 2 p.m. WRBL will stream it live in the video player above.
