PITTSVIEW, Ala. (WRBL) - A Russell County church congregation is grappling with a profound loss following severe weather overnight.
Russell County investigators suspect a lightning strike at Mount Olive Baptist Church sparked a fire that leveled the house of worship on Continuation Street. Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire.
Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage as church elders and the congregation figure out the next step.
