COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- High pressure continues to keep us dry through the remainder of tonight and Thursday. High pressure builds more westward heading into the weekend which will be a driving factor in our forecast and through the extended.
As the high pressure moves westward we will tap just a few chances of rainfall as a weak tropical low moves in from the east across coastal Georgia. Through the weekend expect increasing rainfall chances with warming temperatures into the mid to upper 90s.
Tropical Storm Alberto was named Wednesday morning and will continue to push westward into Mexico while the Texas coast gets inundated with storm surge from the outer rain bands.
As the high pressure retrogrades to the desert southwest that will help us see that pesky northwest flow aloft by the beginning of next week. That will likely lead to increased rainfall chances as thunderstorm complexes drop out from the north.
