Republicans will open the second day of their national convention in Milwaukee riding a wave of enthusiasm, after an opening day that included former President Trump choosing Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) as his running mate and Trump attending the event just two days after his assassination attempt.
The mood at the Republican National Convention (RNC) was jovial and brimming with confidence, a sharp contrast to the last time there was an in-person GOP convention eight years ago.
Tuesday's agenda includes a last-minute speaker: former Trump rival Nikki Haley. She was added to the speaking schedule on Sunday. A week prior to the RNC, she released her delegates and encouraged them to vote for Trump.
