Strong storms possible again Sunday; calmer week ahead

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)-Tracking strong storms this evening. Any storm that develops this evening/tonight will have the potential for torrential rainfall and strong winds.

Sunday afternoon is still shaping up to be another active day. Storms will likely begin to fire up shortly after midday and will last until the late evening hours. This Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) will bring the threat of damaging wind gusts and torrential rainfall.

This unsettled weather is being fueled by a cold front to our north. It will finally move through Sunday night/Monday morning. Behind it, we will see calmer conditions for the school week. Conditions will still be breezy Monday afternoon, however, winds will calm down by Tuesday.

Temperatures will sit in the lower 90s for all of next week, but the most noticeable difference will be in the heat index values. Feel like temperatures will drop from triple digits Sunday to lower 90s Monday.
