Fair weather for the start of the week

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)- While most areas saw a beautiful end to the weekend, there were a few pop up showers and storms this afternoon. The rain will continue to taper off over the next few hours, leaving us with clear skies for Monday morning.

Expect some areas of patchy fog on the way to school tomorrow morning. This could be dense in some areas. More sunshine will move in tomorrow afternoon, but a small chance for pop up showers remains.

A front will move in by Tuesday morning, this will help to clear the remnants of Helene and bring clear skies for midweek. Temperatures as a result will warm into the upper 80s starting Tuesday.

Next weekend, we will be watching a potential system in the Gulf of Mexico. There is still much uncertainty whether this will organize at all and where it will go afterwards. Depending on how well it organizes, rain chances could increase beginning Friday afternoon.
