COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-Many areas across east central Alabama and west central Georgia have not received adequate rainfall in more than a week. This will change with a late week "cool" front, which rightfully lives up to its name.
Tuesday a persistent easterly breeze will help to keep readings out of the mid to upper 90s for the last time this week. In fact, many of us will see readings top off into the upper 80s to near 90° for a high reading for the day.
A cool front will dig far enough south and beyond to allow the entire region to experience a period of time late Thursday into early Friday for some beneficial rainfall and cloudy skies for about 48 hours before the system exits just in time for the weekend.
The air behind this front along with the rain ahead of it will knock our daytime readings down into the upper 70s to near 80° for a high temperature and lows will dip down into the lower 60s for the weekend and likely even cooler across the rural areas.
