Community Warriors partners with local car dealership for fundraising event

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The team at Nissan Headquarters in Columbus donated $100 for every car sold to a local non-profit.

The Community Warriors are a local non-profit that works to feed the food insecure population in the Chattahoochee Valley. Melissa Price, the organization's social coordinator, told News 3 how this partnership came to be.

“Nissan liked our motto, see a need and take the lead… they liked what we were doing as a community and decided to partner with us in giving back to the community.” says Price.

The fundraiser consisted of members of the organization having a cookout in the parking lot to serve customers waiting for their new cars and the community.

Price shared what she hopes the community will take away from the organization's efforts this Labor Day weekend.

“I hope that they see, regardless, rain or shine... whether it’s hot or cold, we’re still doing what God called us to do. “she says. “It’s all about the mission, regardless of the environment, regardless of the need. We're still going to be here going strong.”
