Tropical Storm Milton forms; Fall temperatures ahead

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)- Tracking a beautiful start to the weekend. Readings today reaching into the lower 80s, and we had plenty of sunshine.

Fair weather will continue for the rest of the First Alert Forecast. However, pop up showers will be possible early Sunday. This will not be enough to bring measurable rainfall. Temperatures will remain in the lower 80s once again.

With more sunshine Monday, afternoon highs will reach into the mid to upper 80s. A cold front will arrive Tuesday, bringing big changes to our forecast.

Following this front, temperatures will continue to cool each day. Expect morning lows to drop into the 50s by Thursday, and into the lower 50s next weekend. A few areas could even see 40s.

Tropics: As of this afternoon, we now have Tropical Storm Milton in the Gulf of Mexico. Milton is expected to rapidly intensify starting tomorrow. On its current track, it is expected to make landfall on the Florida west coast as a major hurricane (Category 3+) Wednesday evening. Local impacts are not expected.
