In this week's "War Rapport Wednesday", Mike Gittens from "The War Rapport" and Rex Castillo talk about one of the major upsets in college football from Week 12. The unranked Auburn Tigers shocked the world by upsetting top 10 ranked Texas A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium with quadruple overtime 43-41 win.
Auburn has climbed back to a 5-5 overall record, and the game plan of letting the Tigers' playmakers run wild worked once again. Jarquez Hunter racked up 130 yards and three touchdowns, but the younger members of the Tigers shined as well. Wide Receiver and former Central Red Devil Cam Coleman brought in 7 receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Quarterback Payton Thorne threw for 301 yards, two touchdowns and 1 interception. While Thorne's tenure on The Plains has been far from perfect, Gittens explains that his QBR puts him in some elite company when it comes to all time Auburn quarterbacks. Since 2004, only Jason Campbell and Cam Newton have had a better single season QBR than Payton Thorne. If he can lead Auburn to an Iron Bowl victory in Tuscaloosa, Gittens believes that Thorne can correct a lot of headaches that happened during his time at Auburn.
Finally, the Auburn Men's Basketball team continues to build big win after big win especially with their come back victory against Iowa State in the Maui Invitational.
