Flag Football has exploded in popularity around the nation. In the Chattahoochee Valley, the sports has allowed girls to finally get on the grid iron where Friday Night football dominates communities around Georgia and Alabama.
In this round table discussion, WRBL's Rex Castillo sits down with three of the most successful coaches in the Valley area. Central Phenix City High School head coach Mitchell Holt led the Lady Red Devils to an undefeated season and an AHSAA State Championship. Central also captured national headlines when they were named the USA Today National Champions. Coach Holt along with Central Assistant Coach Troy Jackson and quarterback Garett Griggs and defensive back Natalyn Lumpkin were also invited to be part of the NFL Pro Bowl Games this season.
Pacelli head coach Zach Corcoran has led the Lady Vikings to 3 straight GIAA State Championships. Columbus High head football coach Christian Grier led the Columbus High Lady Blue Devils to the first flag football state championship in the sports inaugural year. This season Columbus High finished as the GHSA State Runner-Ups.
