COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown has been designated a level III neonatal care facility by the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Piedmont Columbus Midtown, whose "Miracle NICU" cares for over 500 babies annually, received a comprehensive on-site review which displayed their team's ability to care for at-risk and medically fragile newborns with advanced technology.

"Our caring, compassionate staff have provided high-quality, personalized care to women and their babies for many years,” said Jonetta Chestnut, the director of Women and Children’s Services . “This prestigious designation should add to the confidence of parents that we’ll meet their baby’s needs.”

Piedmont Columbus says that for babies not born at Piedmont Columbus Midtown, the Neonatal Transport Team, can also ensure patients are brought to the NICU in state-of-the-art ambulances.
