Midday Interview: Chattahoochee County superintendent talks about new role ahead of school year

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Chattahoochee County Superintendent Kimothy B. Hadley stopped by WRBL News 3 and spoke to Rex Castillo to talk about his new role ahead of the school year.

Hadley says he is mostly excited about continuing to work with students, who come from different backgrounds and cultures in a new area.

"Having the opportunity to continue to work with students. It is a new county for me, population is diverse with the military support and the base that we serve, but the people of Chattahoochee excite me the most," said Hadley. "It is a family-oriented environment, from the school system to the staff to the community, they have embraced me and I am so excited."

Hadley also explained his mission for the school year as the leader of Chattahoochee County Schools, by building a community that students would want to comeback and live in later down the line.

"Foundation starts with education and we have to make sure we lay that foundation very solid, so our kids will have a solid community that they can work toward and want to comeback and live in," Hadley said. "So, aligning with the district's vision to make sure we instill that pride, ignite that ignition that leads to infinite possibility."

Hadley has over 20 years of experience in the school system and is known for cultivating high-performing teams. He was previously at the Sumter County School District.

Hadley was approved as the sole finalist for the position in a Board of Education meeting on May 3.
