Midday Interview: Uptown Columbus to host Back to School Car Show

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Members with Uptown Columbus dropped by WRBL News 3 on Monday and spoke to anchor Rex Castillo about the upcoming back-to-school car show.

"We're super excited, Uptown Columbus is hosting its first-ever back-to-school bash, it's also going to be paired with a great car show, so we are super excited about it," said Tracey Green, director of communication and marketing for Uptown Columbus, Inc.

She added, "we're shutting down the streets, we're doing a back-to-school fundraiser for the McKinney-Vento Project here in Columbus. So, we're very excited to get all these school supplies for this local organization to help homeless children in the community."

PTAP Representative Alayne Gamache also explained that drivers can get their car registered to be in the back-to-school event by going to the Always Uptown or dropping by PTAP to register in person, and it's $25 per car for the entry.

The event will take place on Saturday Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. along three blocks of Broadway.
