COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- The showers this afternoon did little to help with the heat. Readings still manage to rise into the mid 90s, and feel like 104 degrees in some areas.
Sunday: The heat continues to build for the end of the weekend. Afternoon heat indices will sit in the lower 100s tomorrow afternoon. Only a few areas will see pop up showers.
Monday and Tuesday: Rain chances will remain slim for the start of the week, thanks to the large area of high pressure over the southeast. This heat dome will cause above-average temperatures and feel like readings close to 110 degrees Tuesday afternoon.
Rest of the Week: A more unsettled pattern will begin by the middle of next week. More rain and clouds will help cool readings. Expect scattered storms each afternoon and highs sitting in the lower 90s.
