Sa unang taon nila bilang mag-asawa, mas lalo raw napagtibay ang relasyon nina Mikael Daez at Miss World 2013 Megan Young.
Dahil sa enforced quarantine, halos siyam na buwang natigil ang taping ni Mikael para sa pinagbibidahang Kapuso teleserye na Love of My Life.
Mas na-appreciate daw ni Mikael iyong simple pero mahahalagang bagay na dapat pagtuunan niyang pansin, lalo na't na-highlight ng pandemya kung gaano kaiksi ang buhay.
Seryosong paliwanag ni Mikael: "Mawala na lahat, but as long as I have my morning coffee with Bonez, where we take turns making it for one another coffee, I'm happy.
"And this year proved that. Because that's the one moment which is the biggest thing for me.
"I have to cherish each moment every morning that I have with Megan. Having that coffee for me is the biggest thing.
"Mawala na lahat, as long as I have that, I know I can be happy."
Bonez ang term of endearment ni Mikael para kay Megan, at Fofo naman ang tawag ni Megan kay Mikael.
Pareho silang certified coffee lovers kahit noong magkasintahan pa lamang sila.
Nakapanayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Mikael sa virtual presscon para sa Love of My Life noong December 22.
HOW MIKAEL AND MEGAN DEFUSE ARGUMENTS
Kuwento pa ng Kapuso actor, nakatulong sa kanila ni Megan na araw-araw silang magkasama sa bahay para mas makilala ang isa't isa.
Pabirong hirit muna ni Mikael, "Status update, we're still married pa naman.
"Kasama ko pa rin naman sa bahay. Natutulog pa rin naman kami together.
"So, that's a good sign so far."
Ang totoo ay hindi raw sila madalas mag-away ni Megan.
"If ever there's an arguments, it's done there and then na.
"We're usually very positive-minded kasi when it comes to things. So, kahit na may mga problema na pinagdadaanan, either individually or as a couple, we just try to be better at it.
"It's not a surefire thing. For sure may madadapa, may magkakamali. Sometimes we miss out on obligations and things we have to do.
"It's okay to make a mistake. It's fine. We can make mistakes individually and as a couple, but the fire to be a better person should never die out.
"We just promise to never get tired of improving ourselves. I guess, that's one thing we committed to another."
SIMILAR LOVE FOR GAMING, VLOGGING
Nakatulong din ang pandemya para magawa nina Mikael at Megan ang kanilang ibang interes tulad ng gaming at vlogging.
"Gaming was something we were able to post on social media a lot this year.
"We had so much time in the world right now. We also tried to include it into our work flows. Megan is streaming her gaming on Facebook.
"A lot of work we shifted to a work-from-home set-up. Megan and I would bond over that."
Kasama raw sa bonding nina Mikael at Megan pati simpleng argumento nila dahil sa pag-shoot ng video content para sa kanilang vlogs.
"Bonding doesn't necessarily mean it's always happy joy joy. It could also be arguments. It could also be the pains of shooting and production at home.
"Because after you get over that hump, it becomes a memory and a nice story to tell. 'O, naalala mo pinag-aawayan natin 'yan di natin alam kung paano i-on yung camera?'
"So yeah, just the adjustment and the transition that 2020 brought, I think that's the biggest bonding moments for us."
Siyam na taong magkasintahan sina Mikael at Megan bago sila nag-isang dibdib noong January 10, 2020 sa Calaruega Church sa Nasugbu, Batangas. Sampung tao lang ang imbitado noon.
Sinundan nila ito ng isa pang church wedding sa Subic, Zambales noong January 25, 2020. Kasama na rito ang mga malalapit na mga kaibigan at mga kapamilya ng couple.
Si Mikael ay 32 years old, habang 30 naman ang edad ni Megan.
