COLUMBUS: One man dead on 25th Ave, foul play suspected

UPDATE 04/30/2022 - In a press release Columbus Police Department said their Patrol Division received calls about shots being fired on Dawson Street and 25th Avenue at 12:12 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Upon arrival police said they found victim Michael Williams suffering from gunshot wound(s). Emergency services then arrived, but were unable to resuscitate him.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson.

CPD said an investigation by the Homicide Unit is underway.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A man was pronounced dead at 12:52 a.m. this morning after a suspected altercation led to a shooting, according to Columbus Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Bryan says the victim was Michael Williams, a 37-year-old black male who was staying in an abandoned house at 343 25th Ave.
