Nabatid ng Abante TONITE Linggo kay Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association Secretary General Edward Kho, na naimbitahan ang dalawang bet ng Patafa ng Pocari Sweat, ang major sponsor ng 42.195-kilometer footrace.
“Upon consultation with (coach) Vertek (Eduardo Buenavista), he gave the go signal, but they will take part not in the full marathon, but will complete only in the half-marathon lang,” anang opisyal. “As a rule kasi, at most two lang dapat ang sasalihan na marathon and kung tatakbo sila ay too close na sa SEA Games.”
“It will be a performance run, may target time, kung ma-hit ang target na 1 oras and 21 minute, good boost sa atin dahil we have a good chance to win in the event,” panapos na sey ni Kho. (Lito Oredo)
