Robin Catalan, 4 pa nakaginto

Sinukbit ng national team ang limang ginting medalya sa pangunguna nina Southeast Asian Games champions Robin Catalan, Mark Striegl at Chino Sy-Tancontian sa katatapos na Southeast Asian Sambo Championships nitong linggo sa Viva Home Mall sa Kuala Lumpur.

Nagtagumpay si Catalan sa combat 64kg., si Sy-Tancontian sa sport -98, si Striegl sa combat -79kgs/ under-79kgs sport, Godwin Langbayan sa under-71 combat lahat sa men’s division, at si Aislin Yap sa women’s 80kgs sport.

Bumitbit naman ng silver si Jomari Torres sa women’s combat -54kgs at sa women’s under-54kgs sport sambo habang may tanso si Jeloird Alvarez sa men’s under-58kgs combat.

“With another successful campaign for the Pilipinas team, we are overjoyed and truly grateful to finish the year with a great victory. It was a fruitful and wonderful year for our federation and to our athletes to provide our country numerous honors and medals in the past competitions. With this win, it could set the tone for us in the coming international tournaments and hoping to produce more for our country and our pride,” lahad ni Pilipinas Sambo Federation Inc., president Paolo Tancontian.
