Three people dead in Russell County crash on U.S. 431: Coroner's Office

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) — Three people died in a crash in the Russell County area on Thursday night, according to the coroner's office.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. confirmed to WRBL a 20-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were all pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m.

The crash happened near the 94 mile marker on U.S. Route 431, which is close to the Pittsville area.

Blood toxicology tests were collected. Coroner Sumbry says speed was a factor in the crash.
