A Perseid Meteor Shower but lacking the liquid showers in the forecast

Bob Ernesto Update:

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-The dry streak continues, with plenty of sunshine, a bit of a breeze, and clearly a lot of heat.

Temperatures will increase into the mid 90s for high temperatures for the afternoon and overnight lows anywhere from the low to mid 70s if the skies are clear.

For the next couple of nights be excited about the clear conditions because we will see a wonderful Perseid Meteor shower displayed across the sky.

So, when are we going to have any opportunities for some rainfall? The answer is from a front which will weaken by the time it enters Alabama and Georgia late night and Saturday as well. Expect isolated showers and storms but not for everyone.

Now, this is a question, how much rain will we be able to squeeze out of this disturbance or front and the short answer is we’re going to put rain in the forecast, but not for everyone. Holding out hope for some rain and break this dry streak.

The tropics look to be active, however, with this late week front , it appears the next Tropical Storm Ernesto will remain off the East Coast of the United States and not in the Gulf of Mexico at this time.
