Cooler temperatures on the way; tropics waking up

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)- A relatively quiet afternoon with many areas staying dry for the start of the weekend. Temperatures once again reached into the mid to upper 90s.

Tomorrow will be a similar day with a few pop up storms possible starting tomorrow afternoon. Humid conditions will linger, causing feel like temperatures to be in the triple digits for many.

A change is on the way for the First Alert Forecast thanks to a cold front. This front, set to move through Monday night/ Tuesday morning will bring more widespread storms to the viewing area. Our temperatures will also take a dip into the upper 80s Tuesday afternoon.

The cooler readings and better rain chances will hang around through the end of next week. Next weekend, we will begin to watch the tropics and the potential formation of our next named storm of the season. This system is currently in the central Atlantic, but it is expected to move into the gulf by next week.
