Heavy rain causing flooding concerns on roadways in Eufaula

EUFAULA, Ala. (WDHN) — Remnants of Tropical Storm Francine are causing flooding concerns for residents in Eufaula.

The heavy rain rolled through east Alabama on Saturday morning and dumped inches of rain on the roadways making it difficult for drivers to reach their location.

Eufaula Police took to Facebook and alerted drivers of roads experiencing flooding.

At this time, all of North Randolph in the Historic District, West Broad Street, Cherry Street, Colmont and South Eufaula Avenue have heavy flooding.

They also say sinkholes opened up at the intersection of North Orange Avenue and Britt Place and near the 400 block of Gammage Road.

Please try to avoid these areas and if you come across other streets that have standing water please try to find a new route of travel.

The heavy showers also canceled Eufaula Animal Control's adoption event and rabies clinic scheduled for Saturday.
