COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)- Temperatures this evening have already begun to plummet below freezing, and with the winds, feel like low 20s and teens.
We will be WEATHER AWARE Monday because of the dangerous wind chills throughout the day. Expect single digit wind chill values in the morning and readings will stay below freezing in the afternoon.
Winter System Timing: Our winter weather system is still on track to move in Tuesday afternoon. We will begin to see flurries move in just before midday, and snow showers will build in coverage by early afternoon. Snow will likely move out by midnight.
Winter System Travel: Travel will be hazardous Wednesday. This will be especially true for untreated roadways. We could still see travel impacts through Thursday.
Snow Totals: Snow totals will continue to be fine tuned. As of now, we can expect lower totals across Chambers, Troup, and Meriwether. In Columbus, snow totals between 1-3 inches will be possible. Higher totals will be likely across Barbour county.
