Groundhog Day forecast; Above average next week

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)-Following yesterday's front, temperatures have not stayed cool for long. Highs today have warmed into the mid-upper 60s across the area.

Sunday: Groundhog Day is still on track to be spring-like. Highs will again be in the upper 60s (with lows in the lower 40s). Sunshine will continue to linger through the start of next week.

Monday-Wednesday: The 70s will return for the school week, and the warming trend does not stop there. Upper 70s are in store for Tuesday, despite the extra clouds that afternoon. By Wednesday, many areas will likely be in the 80s (nearly 20 degrees ABOVE average).

Rest of the Week: Towards the middle of the week, we will enter a more unsettled pattern. Stray showers will be possible starting Thursday and will remain in the forecast through next weekend. Plus, we will see more humid/muggy conditions the last half of the week.
