COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Georgia Thespians are coming back to Columbus from Thursday to Saturday.
Over 6,000 aspiring actors, singers, dancers, playwrights, designers and stage technicians are expected to descend upon Columbus for the 16th annual "Thescon."
The conference allows Columbus State University to showcase its art programs to prospective students. There will be over 200 student volunteers with the university's theatre department assisting with the conference.
Show business workshops will be led by more than 100 theatre professionals and educators with CSU. Those workshops, along with other activities and exhibits, will be held in the Yancey Center at One Arsenal Place, the Schwob School of Music, and the Corner Center for the Visual Arts. Other sites include the Downtown Columbus Marriot and Columbus Convention & Trade Center.
All in all, locals should expect to see significantly more foot traffic than usual in the downtown area.
