Columbus Police Department releases Operation Overlook results

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Operation Overlook, a 30-day crime prevention initiative, has concluded. The Columbus Police Department (CPD) says the results are positive.

The operation aimed to reduce criminal activity as the summer season approaches through community engagement and an increase in police presence, especially in problem areas. Police say officers worked additional hours, made warrant enforcement a priority, and confiscated firearms.

Operation Results:

  • Total Contacts: 7,773
  • Arrests: 206
  • Felony Charges: 144
  • Misdemeanor Charges: 273
  • Warrants Cleared: 236
  • Guns Confiscated: 32
  • Gang Members Arrested: 11
  • Citations Issued: 1,144
