COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- Good Friday evening! Right on cue, showers and thunderstorms have made another afternoon appearance as a cold front approaches the region. This front will bring a shift in our weather pattern heading into the weekend.
Expect increased rain chances on both Saturday and Sunday, along with a noticeable drop in temperatures. Sunday looks to be mostly overcast, though we may catch a few breaks in the clouds. Highs will briefly reach the low 80s in some areas.
Looking ahead to Monday, conditions will be quite similar to Sunday, but with cooler morning lows dipping into the upper 60s.
The wet pattern sticks around through early next week, offering some much-needed rain that could help push back the creeping drought conditions from the south.
By late next week, we’ll start to dry out and warm up, with highs climbing back into the mid to upper 80s.
Stay dry and enjoy the cooler air while it lasts!
