Senado ligalig sa COVID hawaan, binawal mga bisita

Magpapatupad ang Senado ng istriktong protocol matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 ang tatlong senador.

“Due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the last week, where we had three of our colleagues testing positive for COVID-19, during our caucus the senators decided to tighten our health and safety protocols,” pahayag ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri sa sesyon nitong Miyekoles.

Ipagbabawal ng Senado ang mga bisita simula sa Lunes. Hindi muna tatanggap ang Senado ng mga bisita sa loob ng tatlong linggo.

“Effective Monday, August 15, for three weeks, we will have a lockdown for guests. We’ll receive no guests for three weeks except for resource persons which will be limited to two per agency or organization. The others could participate remotely,” ani Zubiri.

Ang mga resource person na dadalo sa pagdinig ay oobligahing magpakita ng negative RT-PCR test na isinagawa 24 oras bago ang nakatakdang pagtungo nito sa Senado o `di kaya’y negative antigen test na ginawa 12 oras bago ang kanyang pagpasok sa gusali ng Senado.

Hindi naman tatanggapin ang self-administered COVID-19 test na walang valid certification.

Sa mga committee hearing at plenary session, bawat senador ay maari lamang magsama ng dalawa sa kanyang mga staff. Ang chairperson naman ng mga komite ay maaring magsama ng maraming staff kapag may pagdinig.

“We beg the indulgence of the general public. It’s just kung hindi po natamaan ang mga senador, masama dito e sunod-sunod po ang pagtama sa ating mga kasamahan sa Senado and we just want to be safe. We have members with comorbidities, staff with comorbidities,” sabi ni Zubiri.
