Tinanggal ni Pope Francis ang mga opisyal ng Caritas Internationalis kabilang na si Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle na siyang presidente ng nasabing Catholic social service organization.
Base sa kautusan ng Santo Papa na inilabas ng Vatican nitong Miyerkoles, kinakailangan diumano na repasuhin ang kasalukuyang regulatory framework ng Caritas Internationalis upang tumugma ito sa trabaho ng organisasyon at ihanda ang halalan na gaganapin sa susunod na general assembly.
“With the entry into force of this measure, the Members of the Representative Council and the Executive Council, the President and Vice Presidents, the Secretary General, the Treasurer and the Ecclesiastical Assistant shall cease from their respective offices,” saad sa decree ni Pope Francis.
Nilinaw naman na wala umanong kinalaman ang pagsibak sa mga namumuno ng Caritas Internationalis sa korapsiyon o sexual scandal. Hindi rin umano apektado ang 162 relief organization ng Caritas sa buong mundo sa halip ay lalong mapapalakas ang pagsisilbi ng mga ito sa mga pagbabagong ipatutupad sa organisasyon.
“I would like to assure you that this is not, this is not, this is not about sexual harassment or sexual abuse. This is not about, again, mismanagement of money … the decree clearly stated the intention,” pahayag naman ni Tagle.
Nabatid pa na tutulong din umano si Tagle sa paghahanda para sa eleksyon ng bagong liderato ng Caritas Internationalis sa susunod na taon.
