PDEA umamin sa pag-recycle ng ilegal na droga

Isiniwalat ng isang opisyal ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) na mas trip ng ilang impormante o tiktik, na droga ang kapalit o balato nila sa makukumpiskang iligal na droga.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Dangerous Drugs kahapon, sinabi ni PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo na sa halip na reward money ang tanggapin ng mga asset ay iligal na droga ang hinihirit.

“There were agents offering to give us, ang term sir nila ‘trabaho’ eh, magbibigay kami ng trabaho. So I personally sat with some of them. Ang sistema sir, I do not have to spend anything. They will do all the work but they are asking 30% of the actual seizures as their payment. So I outrightly told them that as far as my administration is concerned, we are only to give them the monetary value through our reward system,” sabi ni Lazo.

Sinabi ni committee chairperson at Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers na ang pahayag ni Lazo ay nagpapakita na seryoso ang problema sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.

Bunga nito, sinabi ni Barbers na gagamitin ng komite ang kapangyarihan nitong magsagawa ng motu proprio investigation kaugnay ng rebelasyon ni Lazo. (Billy Begas)
