Iniutos ng Office of the Ombudsman ang pagsibak sa serbisyo ng dalawang mataas na opisyal ng Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) matapos mapatunayang guilty sa kasong Grave Misconduct at Abuse of Authority.
Sibak sa serbisyo sina Manila International Airport Authority acting General Manager Cesar Chiong at acting Assistant General Manager Irene Montalbo, ang dalawa ay nauna nang isinailalim sa preventive suspension noong Mayo. Si Chiong ay itinalaga noon ni DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista.
Ayon kay Ombudsman Samuel Martires sina Chiong at Montalbo ay guilty sa kasong grave misconduct, abuse of authority at conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service nang sa unang buwan pa lamang ng mga ito sa MIAA ay agad na nagpatupad ng reassignment sa may 300 empleyado.
Sinabi ni Martires na ang ginawang paglilipat sa mga empleyado ay hindi para sa layuning mapagbuti ang serbisyo ng ahensiya.
“A number of employees, if not all, were transferred to a division/department or designated to a position where they have no knowledge or experience and could not very well function in a manner that the said division/department needs or the position calls,” ani Martires.
Tinukoy nito ang ginawang reassignment sa isang electrical engineer na mula sa electric division na ginawang manager ng airport police department.
“In the event that the penalty of dismissal can no longer be enforced due to respondent’s separation from the service, the same shall be converted into fine in the amount equivalent to respondent’s salary for one year,” nakasaad sa kautusan ni Martires.
