Sunday sees a break from the rain, but not the humidity

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- For the remainder of today remaining humid and mostly cloudy with a few lingering showers possible tonight with temperatures falling near 70.

For Sunday, drier conditions will prevail along with the heat and humidity. Expect mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures likely climbing into the lower 90s for the majority of the viewing area.

Memorial Day we will see isolated showers and storms return to the forecast as the cold front inches closer to the region. There appears to be two chances for rain, one comes during Monday morning then another chance later in the evening.

Tuesday will see the cold front finally clear and move through the southeast bringing in a brief period of lower humidity levels and temperatures in the mid 80s.

By the end of the forecast temperatures return more seasonal along with the humidity as we wrap up the month of May.
