Hindi haharap si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa imbestigasyon ng House Committee on Human Rights kaugnay ng “war on drugs” na inilunsad ng kanyang administrasyon.
Ayon kay dating Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, iginiit ni Duterte ang kanyang karapatan sa ilalim ng Saligang Batas laban sa self-incrimination
“Our former President firmly believes that the Lower House is not the proper forum to investigate any criminal allegation against him,” sabi ni Roque sa isang social media post.
Iginiit naman ni Roque na handa si Duterte na humarap sa anumang korte sa Pilipinas upang sagutin ang mga alegasyon ng extrajudicial killings sa “war on drugs”.
“As guaranteed by our Bill of Rights, Congress cannot compel FPRRD to be a witness against himself,” sabi ni Roque.
