Pop up storms possible this weekend; change in the forecast next week

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL)-The summer pattern will continue through the weekend, with pop up storms possible both Saturday and Sunday.

The big change will arrive at the start of next week thanks to two cold fronts. This front will bring better rain coverage starting Monday afternoon. Showers and storms will continue through most of the school week.

Back to back cool fronts will help readings drop into the upper 80s by Tuesday afternoon and those highs will hang around through the First Alert Forecast.

Tropics: The tropics continue to wake up. This afternoon there are now three areas of concern. The first, currently in the gulf, has a very low chance of development and will likely just bring heavy rain to the coast.

The second, in the central Atlantic, has a 50% chance of development and will have to be monitored closely as it begins to move into the gulf next week. The third, behind the second system, has a low chance of development but there is still much uncertainty regarding these systems.
