LaGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — The LaGrange Police Department arrested a man on multiple charges in relation to a domestic incident where an infant was kidnapped Thursday. That infant was returned safely.
According to the LaGrange Police Department, Jesus Javier Perdomo Fanaite is being charged with robbery by sudden snatching, interference with a 911 call, kidnapping and stalking.
LPD says officers responded to Youngs Mill Road where they determined Fanaite had gotten into an argument with the victim earlier that morning at the Motel 6 on Lafayette Parkway. During the argument, the victim said she was going to call 911. Police report Fanaite took the victim's phone and left.
The victim went to LaGrange mall, where Fanaite followed and began another argument, according to police. By the time officers arrived, Fanaite had left the mall.
The victim went to Youngs Mill Road. While getting her infant out of the vehicle, police say Fanaite snatched the child, then fled.
Fanaite was found in a different vehicle where he was arrested and taken to Troup County Jail. The infant was returned safely.
