City of LaGrange announces half day shut down for April 18

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The City of LaGrange plans to close city offices for the first half of the workday on Friday, April 18.

The half day is granted to city employees allowing them to participate in  ‘Leaving LaGrange Better Than We  Found It’, a litter cleanup campaign than began in April 2018. Since 2018, the city has partnered with various community groups, businesses, schools, colleges, and individuals to help clean up the community.

City offices will re-open at 1:00 p.m.

On Friday, April 18th community members, organizations, and area businesses are invited to the litter clean up event.

To participate, people can show up Friday at 8:00 a.m. in front of LaGrange City Hall for a quick ceremony and then leave from that location to pick up litter in the area.

After the cleanup, city employees and volunteers are invited to Sweetland Amphitheatre for lunch before returning to work at 1:00 p.m.
