Suspect in death of LaGrange woman mauled by dogs turns himself in

LaGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — A man who is accused of involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and other charges after a woman was mauled by dogs has turned himself in to authorities.

According to LaGrange police, the suspect, who was identified as Derrick Parker, turned himself in to the Troup County Sheriff's Office on Monday and was charged with manslaughter, reckless conduct and dog running at large.

On July 11 at approximately 11:11 a.m., police responded to reports of a person, identified as Theresa Patterson, being attacked by two large dogs. She was transported to West Georgia Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
