WEATHER AWARE: Heat alerts possible over the next few days

Sunday: The heat will begin to build again on Sunday. Heat Advisories are in places for Bullock and Macon counties, but more could be added. High pressure will give us readings near 100 and heat indices approaching 105 degrees.

Next Week: We are WEATHER AWARE Monday and Tuesday as our hottest weather of the year is approaching. Heat indices could reach above 110 degrees, and actual highs will sit above the century mark as well.

Heat Advisories are likely (heat indices above 105 degrees), but we will be watching for the possibility of an Extreme Heat Warning (heat indices above 110 degrees).

Scattered showers and storms will begin to build again on Tuesday, but cooler readings won’t be seen until the end of next week. Highs will cool into the upper 80s by next weekend.
