COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Scattered showers and storms continue to push through this evening, bringing a threat for flooding in some areas.
Monday: With another round of slow-moving storms expected tomorrow, flooding will remain a concern for everyone heading back to school. Storms will be more widespread in the afternoon, with temperatures only reaching into the upper 70s. A flood watch remains in place through tomorrow evening.
Rest of the Week: We will continue to see this rainy and unsettled pattern for the rest of the week. However, our rain chances will slowly taper off by next weekend. Temperatures will slowly warm into the 90s by next weekend.
Tropics: We are monitoring three different areas in the Atlantic that have potential for development. Area #1: An area off the coast of the Carolinas is likely to become a tropical storm by Monday. This system will continue northwest into the Atlantic. Area #2: Another area off the coast of the Carolinas has a low chance of development over the next 7 days. Area #3: A tropical wave off the coast of Africa has a 40% chance of development over the next 7 days.
