Nakahanda na ang mga abogado ni Vice President Sara Duterte na ipagtanggol ito sa Senate impeachment court matapos aprubahan sa plenaryo ng Kamara de Representantes ang impeachment complaint laban sa kanya.
“We are aware of the action taken by the plenary and with that vote to transmit the articles of impeachment,” ayon kay Atty. Michael Poa, isa sa mga abogado ni VP Sara.
Sabi ni Poa, nasa kamay naman ngayon ng prosekusyon ang responsibilidad na patunayan ang mga alegasyon laban sa Bise Presidente oras na magsimula ang paglilitis ng impeachment court.
“The burden now rests on the accusers to substantiate their claims in accordance with the Constitution, the law, and rules on evidence,” ani Poa.
Dagdag pa ng abogado na bagamat may mga nakabinbing petisyon sa Supreme Court kaugnay ng mga isyu sa impeachment proceedings ng Kamara, “fully prepared” na aniya si VP Sara na harapin ang Senate impeachment court.
