Duterte bibisita sa Region 9

NAKATAKDANG bumisita ngayong (Disyembre 2) sa Zamboanga Peninsula o Region 9 si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte upang personal na makita ang progreso ng mga proyekto sa ilalim ng Barangay Development Program (BDP).

Si Duterte na tumatayong chairman ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) ay personal na makikipag-usap sa mga opisyal ng barangay sa Zamboanga Peninsula at makikinig sa accomplishment report ng Regional Development and Security for Region 9 at ng Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Ayon kay NTF-ELCAC Vice Chairman at National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., halos lahat ng guerilla fronts sa Zamboanga Peninsula ay nabuwag na ng Regional Task Force-ELCAC sa tulong ng kapulisan at militar at ang nalalabing dalawa ay humina na ang pwersa.

“They will be soon dismantled. The peace and order in the region is achieved through the joint efforts of the security officials and regional offices of national government agencies,” ani Esperon.

Sa Zamboanga Peninsula, umaabot sa 86 proyekto ng BDP ang kasalukuyang isinasagawa para sa 34 barangays na hindi na nasasakop ng CPP-NPA-NDF 2016 hanggang 2019.

Sa susunod na taon, aabot sa 39 barangays mula sa Region 9 ang maisasali na sa listahan ng BDP o yung mabibigyan ng tig-P20 milyong halaga ng proyekto gaya ng farm-to-market roads, school buildings, health centers, water sanitation, livelihood at tulong pinansiyal para sa mga mahihirap.

Ngayong 2021, ang NTF-ELCAC ay nabigyan ng P16.4 bilyon para sa BDP na kung saan mga 822 piling barangay ang nabiyayaan, Ang target para sa 2022 ay paabutin hanggang 1,406 barangays ang maisasali sa BDP. Ito ay may panukalang P28.1 billion.

Ani Esperon, naging matagumpay ang BDP dahil na din sa suporta ng lokal na pamahalaan na sila din ang nagsusulong ng mga proyekto.

“In behalf of the President, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the members of the RTF-ELCAC, local chief executives and their private sector partners who tirelessly work to make our collective aspirations for peace and development a reality. The Zamboanga Peninsula has showed us that inclusive development and lasting peace are attainable through cooperation among government and its stakeholders. Through the BDP, a better life is now possible for communities freed from the CTG,” saad ni Esperon.

Makakasama ni Pangulo sa kanyang pagbisita sa Zamboanga Peninsula sina Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Victor Yu at Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco; ilang miyembro ng Gabinete; opisyal ng NTF-ELCAC, Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
