Final arrest made in 2023 murder of Meriwether County woman

MERIWETHER COUNTY, Ga. (WRBL)— Wednesday, the tenth and final arrest was made in a 2023 Meriwether County murder.

Jamire Montrelle Jones, 22, of Woodbury, Ga. was arrested in connection to the murder of Kimberly Harvey-Pollard. Jones was a fugitive of justice, and the last outstanding suspect in this investigation.

Jones is charged with murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property. He was believed to be in the Knoxville, Tenn. area but was apprehended Tuesday at a home in Manchester, Ga. Jones is currently being held at the Meriwether County Jail without bond.

"We currently have all the known suspects, ten total, in this heinous crime that occurred on March 19th, 2023, on Tuskegee Lane, Manchester, Ga. in custody," Sheriff Chuck Smith said in a prepared statement. "We are committed to seeking justice for the victim and her family. The collaborative efforts of local, state, and federal agencies were instrumental in apprehending the suspect."

WRBL reported on the nine other arrests and search warrant issued for Jones one month ago. All suspects range in age from 17 to 24. Harvey-Pollard was asleep in her bed when her home on a dead-end street was surrounded and sprayed with gunfire.

18 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation and arrests.
