HAMILTON, Ga. (WRBL) — Spring has arrived and with it comes cleaning. The Rotary Club of Harris County aims to help clean with its 11th annual Shred and Recycle Day.
The event is free and will take place at the Harris County Courthouse on May 10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The club says to bring old tax information, documents, or any personal or business paperwork to be professionally shredded as well as any expired or unneeded medicines.
“We encourage everyone to spring clean," says Jim Trott, president of the Rotary Club of Harris County. "We’ll have people standing by to help unload items. Our professional shredding partner, River Mill Data Management, will ensure that paperwork is handled carefully to protect privacy.”
The club says River Mill Data Management shredding truck will be onsite to handle shredding of documents. Expired and unneeded medicines will be placed in the Harris County Sheriff Department’s medicine drop box on site.
Items that can be accepted include:
- pills
- tablets
- capsules
- patches
- other solid forms of pharmaceutical drugs
“This really is a win-win-win situation,” Trott says. “You get clutter out of your house. Old and unneeded medicines are removed from our community. The Rotary of Harris County is able to support people in need right here in Harris County and in third-world countries. We appreciate everyone’s participation. Please spread the word.”
