Inanunsiyo ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na suspendido muna ang terminal fee sa Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) sa loob ng tatlong buwan, simula sa Lunes, Mayo 18.
Ito’y matapos ipag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang suspensiyon sa pagbabayad ng mga public utility vehicle (PUV) operator sa PITX para maibsan ang epekto ng taas-presyo sa petrolyo.
Tinatayang aabot sa mahigit P5 milyon ang matitipid ng mga PUV operator sa loob ng tatlong buwan.
Sakop ng libreng terminal fee ang mga provincial bus, city bus, modern at traditional jeepney, UV Express, at mga taxi na pumipila sa PITX.
Sa pahayag ng DOTr, inirekomenda ni Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez ang suspensiyon sa pagbabayad ng terminal fee para maibsan ang hirap ng mga PUV operator dahil sa taas ng presyo ng diesel.
Ayon pa sa DOTr, posible ring palawigin ang suspensyon depende sa magiging pagtatasa ng kagawaran.
