Ipagdiriwang ng Pilipinas at Canada ang 75 taon ng kanilang diplomatic relations at tampok dito ang posibleng pagbisita ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Ottawa.
Isiniwalat ng Canadian government na nakikipag-usap na sila sa mga opisyales ng Pilipinas para sa posibleng biyahe ni Marcos doon.
“We hope to, you know, by the autumn when we have the President visit Canada, to be in a position to announce other projects and initiatives this year,” wika ni Canadian Ambassador David Hartman.
Wala pang inihayag na petsa kung kailan maaaring bumisita si Marcos sa Canada pero posibleng sa huling quarter pa ito ng 2024.
“The President already has existing commitments in the western hemisphere and so the likelihood is that he will be in the neighborhood,” paglalahad ni Hartman. “So, we’re more or less looking at that time frame.”
